How To Apply Bronzers Like A Pro

For most of us, bronzers are essential. They’re a must-have if you look tired, dull or super pale.

It’s actually a quick fix if you want to look fresh and glowing in an instant. However, like most makeup products, proper application is key.

With bronzers, the trick is in knowing the areas of your face where the sun light naturally hits. Now, if you’re not sure what these areas are, they’re actually your forehead, the sides of your cheekbones and jaws.

Just think of these areas forming the number “3”.

Once you’ve spotted the right areas, get a brush and lightly pick up some of the product. Tap off any excess.

If you don’t tap, you can end up applying way too much bronzer and that can be a bit tricky to remedy.

Then, lightly sweep the bronzer on those areas. You should also include the bridge of your nose as well as your temples and the area under your chin.

In case you are using a liquid bronzer, make sure to layer the product on your skin gradually and don’t load your brush with too much product.

Blending is extremely important if you want to have natural-looking results. So, take the time to double check if everything is smoothly blended.

If not, keep buffing using light motions mimicking the number “3”. For any harsh lines, you may need to buff them with a translucent powder.

Mistakes You Could Be Doing With Your Bronzers

Bronzers are a great help in achieving a youthful glow. No doubt about that.

Unfortunately, however, applying bronzers isn’t as easy as it sounds. You can easily end up looking orange or awkwardly shiny if you pick the wrong formula.

So, to make sure those things don’t happen to you, check out these common mistakes a lot of people commit when applying their bronzers.

1. Using the wrong brush

Kabuki brushes are the most common brushes people use with bronzers. The problem with these brushes is that they are too dense.

They can pick up more product than you’re supposed so you’ll end up applying too much bronzer. Instead of using a kabuki brush, pick a fluffy blush brush instead.

2. Using a bronzer that’s too dark

As much as possible, use a bronzer that’s only one to two shades darker than your skin tone. Using anything darker than that will look awkward on your skin.

3. Applying your bronzer quickly

If you are too hasty with your application, you risk getting way too much bronzer on your skin and this can make your complexion look off. So, take your time when applying it and layer on gradually.

It’s easier to build the color up than to reduce it.

4. Picking the wrong formula

Having shimmers in your bronzers is actually nice if you want to achieve that glowing skin. However, if you have oily skin, shimmers won’t spell the same good news.

In fact, it can make you look really unnatural, especially once your skin oils up or it begins to sweat.
