In our commitment to introduce you to different beauty products around the world, we put a number of Korean concealers up for review and assessed them based on their compatibility with dry skin and skin prone to acne, ability to conceal blemishes, and their value for money until we were left with 5 and, finally, chose what we believe is the best Korean concealer.

At A Glance: Our Choices for The Best Korean Concealer

A lot of Koreans swear by the Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream # 1 by Skinfood. It is vitamin-enriched and great for under eye circles for a youthful, more vibrant appearance.

The Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream # 2 by Skinfood is similar to the first product but comes in a darker shade. It may look dark in the packaging but covers dark circles perfectly.

Etude House’s Kissful Lip Care Lip Concealer will make you believe concealers for the lips do exist. This product goes on easily and is naturally-tinted to raise the color of regular lipsticks.

Choose the Cover Perfection Tip Concealer by the SAEM for a cheap concealer that gives great coverage. It effectively covers acne scars and dark spots and leaves skin with a matte finish.

People will really notice your eye area with The Style Under Eye Brightener by Missha. It has properties that brighten the skin around the eyes for that beautiful, well-rested look.

Whether you want light or full coverage, here are the best korean concealers that can get the job done.

Best Korean Concealer - Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream # 1 by Skinfood

This product’s Vitamin E content makes this the best Korean concealer for dry skin. It has a creamy, smooth texture that blends in easily with the skin and is perfect for the under eye area.

Perhaps the most popular Korean brand, the company focuses on “feeding” skin with nutrition from healthy foods.

For instance, this product contains Norwegian Salmon oil that boosts the immunity of the skin by fighting against aging. It also contains other essential nutrients to relieve dark under eye circles.

Retinol is one of its components as well, which may help against acne.

Packaging-wise, this concealer has a very retro vibe to it. We must, however, state that it doesn’t come with a spatula so if you don’t want messing your fingers up, might as well skip on this one.

Great even for combination oily skin, this product goes on smoothly and won’t cause the under-eye skin getting tugged. It also doesn’t accentuate any dry skin around that area.

In terms of pigmentation, this makeup is very pigmented and is highly buildable without ending up looking cakey. A tiny amount is good enough for every application so a little goes a long way.

Blendable, this concealer offers wear that can last the whole day. It doesn’t dry up and leaves skin with a dewy finish, so if you have oily skin, it is suggested to use the right setting powder.

Things We Liked

  • Great for all skin types (especially for dry skin)
  • Highly-pigmented
  • Flatters almost any type of skin tone
  • Adorable packaging

Things We Didn't Like

  • Packaging isn’t very hygienic (susceptible to bacteria that cause acne)
  • Does not work well in flash photography
  • Difficult to find in stores
Best Korean Concealer - Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream # 2 by Skinfood

This best Korean concealer for dry skin has Salmon oil which hides dark circles while giving softer, brighter skin. Its creamy texture prevents the under-eye skin from being dragged.

Highly-concentrated, it looks like second skin when applied and is buildable without looking cakey. And though it contains Salmon oil, this product surely doesn’t smell like fish whatsoever.

This concealer comes in a pot packaging and holds a decent amount of product. It has a subtle salmon-pink pigment that fixes dark under eye circles and even helps in brightening the area.

It is highly recommended to use your fingers when applying the product to heat it up and helps in blending it out. This allows the product to be applied evenly on dry skin without any streaks.

However, what turned us off with this product is its unhygienic packaging. Also, it looks like the whole pot is filled but, up close, there’s a separate container that holds the actual concealer.

Anyhow, this best Korean concealer review suggests that you try this product right away. It gives good value for money, and we’re sure you’ll be glad you heeded our advice.

Things We Liked

  • Easy to apply and rinse-off
  • Works well with mature, dry skin
  • Impressive longevity
  • Cute packaging

Things We Didn't Like

  • Comes in a pot container (might cause acne breakouts)
  • A bit thick
  • Is a little greasy
Best Korean Concealer - Kissful Lip Care Lip Concealer by Etude House

Can we start off by saying how cute this product looks? Made from a beige-colored plastic, this lip concealer comes in a tube with a little girl with short hair printed on it—how adorable is that? Now for the actual review.

This lip concealer comes in a nude, skin tone color and is applied under your lip gloss or lipstick. Its smooth texture evens out any redness and boosts the color and longevity of any lip product.

Paraben and fragrance-free, this concealer is free from any irritants which makes it ideal even for those with sensitive lips. A tube also has a lot of product and can last you for quite a while.

It is very blendable, but we suggest using your fingers instead of your lips to blend it out. We also do not recommend wearing this on its own because it can dry skin after some time.

On that note, you’ll want to exfoliate first to prevent this product from accentuating dry skin. We also found the gradient look difficult to pull off since lip stains don’t stick well with this product.

In terms of longevity, this product lasts for a good 4 hours. And though the name includes the words “Lip Care” on it, remember to not replace your lip routine solely with this concealer.

Things We Liked

  • Cheap
  • Decent staying power
  • Really gives lip gloss and lipsticks a color boost
  • Does not settle into fine lines

Things We Didn't Like

  • Takes a long time to dry
  • Accentuates flaky, dry skin
  • Lips feel a bit heavy after application
Best Korean Concealer - Cover Perfection Tip Concealer by the SAEM

A good and long-lasting coverage is what this best Korean concealer for acne has to offer. This product has a thick texture that basically erases any acne scars or dark spots you may have.

This moisturizing formula is very creamy and has an almost mousse-like consistency. We can say that its coverage is really good as it concealed our dark circles with just one layer alone.(we’re not exaggerating)

With that being said, a little goes a long way as it is highly-pigmented. And if you have an issue with doe foot applicators (like us,) it doesn’t need to be dipped back and forth to add layers.

Though it claims to be moisturizing, we really do not recommend this for people with dry skin. It does crease a bit especially under the eyes, which thus accentuates fine lines and wrinkles.

But we were really impressed with its staying power (around 10 hours!) There was no unevenness or streakiness, so we definitely recommend you try it out.

Things We Liked

  • Blendable
  • Offers a good amount of coverage
  • Very affordable
  • A little goes a long way

Things We Didn't Like

  • Formulated with parabens
  • Comes with a doe foot applicator (can house bacteria that cause acne)
  • May not work for dry skin
Best Korean Concealer - The Style Under Eye Brightener by Missha

If you need help brightening your under-eye area, this product is fit for the job. This concealer can also be used as a highlighter and applied between and under the eyes, and along the nose.

The product comes in a small, cylindrical tube with a sponge applicator for easy application. Its tube is a typical screw-top which makes it travel-friendly as you don’t have to worry about leaks.

Spreadable, this concealer has a consistency that’s neither too thin nor thick. It does however settle a bit on fine lines once it settles, so this may not be your best bet if you have dry skin.

We also tried applying it on our lids, and it accentuated the folds on our dry skin almost instantly. *sigh*

This product gives sheer to medium coverage. And unlike other eye brighteners, this doesn’t have that “white pearlized effect” wherein you look like you went sunbathing with glasses on.

(get the picture?)

In terms of staying power, we’d say it stayed on for around 6 hours. It also dries very quickly, and if you aren’t a fan of powders, you can wear this without having to puff some on.

Things We Liked

  • Works great at brightening the eyes
  • Very affordable
  • Provides a decent amount of coverage
  • Easily spreadable

Things We Didn't Like

  • Text on the bottle is in Korean
  • May not work for dry skin
  • Formulated with parabens

What Beauty Means in Korea vs. in America

Don’t get us wrong: we like how “beautiful” in America looks like. But, we can’t help but be curious and amazed about the Korean culture- from their skincare to their makeup products.

There is no denying that there are a lot of differences between these two cultures. So, for today, we decided to dig a little deeper and finally feed our curiosity (and maybe yours, too.)

Primers

American primers are usually unscented, thin, and leave skin dry with a matte finish. They go on clear and does nothing to the skin tone, and aren’t expensive but not necessarily cheap.

The Korean brands are thicker, come in a variety of scents, and often has a dewy finish (kudos to those with dry skin.) They sometimes even have brightening properties and are very cheap.

Foundations

Foundations in the US come in tan shades, thicker, offer a matte finish, and are usually provide full coverage. They have minimum SPF, but the good news is they come in several shades.

The dewy look is popular in Korea (yeay again for dry skin) so foundations come in a light formula with an SPF or 30 or more. The only downside is that you have limited color options.

Eye shadow

American women opt for dark, bold matte eye shadow and often contour the eyelid. They go for the “double lid” look, and eye shadows usually go high up to the eyebrow.

With Koreans, they prefer pink, lighter colors with an even application and a lot of sparkles. They also use lesser product since eye shadow is only applied on the lids.

Contouring

Here in America, we usually contour the whole face and put a lot of definition on our nose. The cheek bones also get a lot of definition and emphasize our jawline a lot.

It is however very different in Korea. They prefer the natural look so they seldom (or not at all) use this technique.

Blushes

Since the bronzed look is loved by many, we often get blushes in neutral or dark tones. Also, blush is often worn underneath the cheek bones for a more defined look.

Korean women, on the other hand, go for lighter colors with pinkish tones. They use blushes with no shimmers in them, and are applied on the balls of the cheeks for that flushed look.

But then again, this is just our opinion. But still, do you agree with this review/observation?

Conclusion

Korea is definitely a contender when it comes to fashion and beauty-related things. This is why we shifted our attention to the Eastern market and placed it on review to see what it has to offer.

We have chosen the Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream # 1 by Skinfood as the best korean concealer. It is packed with skin-loving ingredients that help fight the signs of aging.

Creamy and smooth, it contains Norwegian Salmon oil that boosts the immunity of the skin and retinol which may help with acne. It also offers a good balance between quality and price.
