Summary

DeVita-C Accelerator or DeVita Vitamin C Serum is a good choice if you are looking for an all-vegan serum. However, because of its fragrance oil and citrus content, this one may be a bit strong to use on sensitive skin.

The good side is that it promises to decrease your hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles while boosting your skin’s protection against sun damage and skin aging.

Vitamin C serums can do a lot for your skin. However, getting your hands on the wrong product or even the wrong ingredients can do more harm to your skin than good.

To help you figure out the right serum for your skin, we have a list of the best products you should try. And as for DeVita-C Accelerator serum, here’s what we have to say.

About The Brand

DeVita Natural Skin Care is an all-vegan brand. It claims to not use animal-based ingredients in any of its product.

The brand offers several product lines, ranging from cosmetics to items safe enough for your babies. It also markets skin care items, such as its vitamin C serum and night cream.

The company does online and offline selling and most of its products have a price-range of $10 to $50.

Main Ingredients

DeVita uses a combination of L-Ascorbic Acid and Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate to give its vitamin C serum a 17% strength. It also has aloe vera gel and green tea leaf extract to protect your skin against free radical damage.

On top of its ascorbic acid content, the serum contains citrus ingredients, too. It has orange and lemon peel oil.

You can also find CoQ10 in the product, which is a strong anti-oxidant to protect your skin.

Uses and Effects

After a few uses, you’ll be able to notice the serum’s tightening effect. As for the benefits you can get from this product, it promises to give you a firmer and younger looking skin with continued use.

Some of its users were able to see improvements in just a matter of two weeks, particularly with their skin’s pigmentation issues. However, one important thing you should remember when using the product is its citrus extract contents.

Although they are helpful in improving dark spots, they can also cause phototoxic reactions when exposed to the sun. When this happens, you can get skin discolorations.

The product can be a bit strong, especially during its initial application. To avoid reactions, like burning sensation and skin redness, we suggest starting off with a small amount first to test your skin’s tolerance.

Formulation

As we’ve mentioned, this serum has a 17% strength. It might be lower than serums marketed at 20% concentration, but it doesn’t mean it's any weaker.

In fact, with its citric acid content and fragrance oil, this one can be too strong to use on sensitive skin.

As for consistency, the serum is slightly watery and has no repulsive scent other than citrus smell. You get 1 ounce of product when you buy DeVita-C.

Packaging

The serum comes in the typical DeVita Natural Skin Care packaging. It has a dark tinted container which is great in preventing the serum from oxidizing.

As for its dispenser, you get to use a pump.

How To Use

Because the product is a tad strong, make sure to apply only a thin layer of the product no more than once a day. Use gentle upward strokes when massaging the serum into your skin and avoid your eye and lip areas.

We recommend that you use a hydrating moisturizer after the serum has dried to limit skin dryness.

The Verdict

What We Like

  • Vegan product
  • Contains potent ingredients
  • Good for dark spots

What We Didn’t Like
